60 DAYS TO SOBRIETY IN SALT LAKE CITY, UT

The 60-day treatment programs are not as intensive as a 30-day therapy, and less time consuming than a 90-day program. This treatment is meant for those with less severe addictions. Salt Lake City has a wide variety of treatment options, and there is likely one that fits your needs. The 60-day programs typically combine both medical and behavioral therapies. The two-month length is ideal for those who are not dealing with a severe addiction. Individuals who need more time in a substance-free environment are also good candidates. More so, this length offers more time for recovery while also preparing an individual for aftercare.

The second option, outpatient, only consumes 2-4 hours of an individual’s day. The detox in the two-month-long therapy is less intense than the 30-day with detox being the main focus. More so, this choice is more economically sound than a longer option, and 43% of those admitted complete therapy.

WORTHWHILE 60-DAY PLANS

OUT-PATIENT

Out-patient is ideal for those who are unable to give two months of their lives to stay in a facility. The out-patient option only requires 2-4 hours out of one’s day. After their respective therapy, they are then able to return home. However, with the benefit of freedom, it should be known that the individual needs to be able to provide a sober environment for themselves to have the best chance for success. One of the benefits can include a transition to further therapy after they have completed their treatment. The individual can also choose to extend the length of their treatment with outpatient.

IN-PATIENT RESIDENTIAL

Time spent at an inpatient facility requires a 24-hour around the clock commitment. These facilities provide a sober stable environment and are beneficial to individuals who cannot provide this for themselves otherwise. These facilities are group activity-focused where treatment is both supportive and community-focused. One can expect to go through the usual steps of detox in these facilities while under caring supervision. The two-month facilities also prepare an individual for aftercare which is not typical of a 30-day stay in a facility. This option is best for those who do not have obligations that need their immediate attention.

THE 60-DAY BREAKDOWN

THE FIRST STEPS

When an individual first begin their 60-day journey there are a few steps they must go through. Similarly, to the other treatment lengths, the journey starts with assessment. Assessment entails the treatment professionals taking things into account such as mental health (are there any dual-diagnosis, PTSD, depression, etc.), physical health, and severity of the addiction. The assessment step is there to create a personalized treatment plan to make sure they receive the care that is going to be the most effective in treating their addiction.

The next step an individual can expect to go through is Detox, while detox at home is not recommended, detox under the careful guise of professionals is different. During the detox process, one will be taken off of their substance and will then face the symptoms of withdrawal. While the symptoms of withdrawal can vary from substance to substance some of the most common include: anxiety, fatigue, sweating, vomiting, seizures, depression, and hallucinations. It is important that this is done under supervision, as at this time it is the most dangerous for the individual to be alone as they may be prone to violence for themselves or even others.

Lastly, will come the rehab/therapy portion of the journey. The therapy can be different depending on the facility, and even depending on whether the therapy is in-patient or out-patient. The final step in 60-day treatment programs is preparation for aftercare, which is not a focus of the 30-day programs.

INPATIENT VS. OUTPATIENT

Depending on the form of therapy an individual chooses, whether in-patient or out-patient, their journey is going to look a little different. The rehab step, in particular, is on that will look the most different depending on treatment selection. It is important to remember which type of lifestyle will work best with which treatment forms. Selecting in-patient treatment will involve more group-centered therapies which can include (but not limited to): Detox, Matrix Model, and 12-Step Facilitation.

The in-patient facilities are the better option for someone who does not have access to a sober environment otherwise. The facilities are also a good option for someone who may not have a strong support system outside of the center. Most of the therapy in these centers are group-focused and creates community among many who are in recovery and this creates an environment of support for those who do not have it otherwise.

Outpatient, on the other hand, is less group focused, but it is there for those who do not have the ability to walk away from their day-to-day obligations for two months. The out-patient option allows these individuals with immediate responsibilities to be able to attend to both their obligations and recovery at once. However, it is important that those who chose this option have a strong support system and access to a sober environment since they will not be given 24-hour care. More so, those that pick this option will have the option to prolong their treatment.
